About SMICC Name

The current name SMICC is the result of a long process. First, the Shimane Mosque project alone was created (August 2002). Next, we initiated a new project the Shimane Islamic Cultural Center (SICC). This was basically aimed to get the statute of a religious corporation. But when we tried to apply at the Prefecture, we found out that we did not meet all the conditions. So the project was suspended (around 2007). Finally, when we got the current place (June 2012), we decided to combine the two projects. The current name was approved by 2012′s EC, after serious and deep consultations. Eventually it was approved during one Friday meeting.
